In the spirit of Vol. I, we return with our latest installment…….. Vol. II!
Nothing is more important to us than bringing music to you, our fans and listeners. This is where we celebrate our biggest influences by recording their tunes. For this session, one of those big influences - Danny Barnes - stopped by to produce it, mix it, and pick and sing one of his songs with us on it.
The Story:
It has been a bit of a blurry flurry since our last Woodshed release back in 2014. In addition to everything else, there have been sound checks, gigs, drives, flights, gas station bananas, and even a few fights. Additionally, we have been busy recording music in different studios, hotel rooms, and houses, with new and previously acquainted engineers, producers, and pickers. Continually searching for sounds, excavating. We wanted to find a place to record around Austin (we do live here, after all!). Bruce Robison’s analog studio, “The Bunker”, out near Lockhart, TX, was Dom’s suggestion, as he records there with Bruce and digs the tones. All of us wished to spend some time turning a few pages deeper into the catalogue of the great John Hartford. As we had been doing a bit of gigs with Danny Barnes around that time, getting in the studio with him was hovering, as well. And thenithappened. On an Autumn day in 2016, we all drove out to the studio, in separate cars, listening to the same radio station with the news that Guy Clark had just passed away. We sat down in the kitchen and reminisced, then Danny and Bruce set up the microphones and got behind the mixing board; pressed record, and we played.
This is available in a "PAY WHAT YOU WANT" format. We put good time and money into producing, licensing, and releasing these projects. We appreciate your contributions immeasurably, and it al goes directly towards creating more

Anyone wondering about Wood & Wire’s sound need not look any further than the four-piece band’s name, which honors the purity of acoustic instruments and the gorgeous music a skilled artist can coax out of just simple wood and wire.
The lead singer of punk band Camp Cope ventures into romantic synth-pop territory, tempering slick arrangements with bare sentiment.
